Ustream Project Sneak Peak the 8 track Mini Album

Ready to do the time warp? I remember the first time I saw one of these, I was 9 and it was in my best friend's brother's car. How cool?! You could take your favorite music with you and play what you want unlike the transistor radio where you could only listen to what they played. And it wasn't like you could carry your record player everywhere you went.

These were before boom boxes and kids now a days don't even know what they are. I have a funny story to tell during the show!

It was the 8 track. Having an 8 track player installed was all the rage but to quickly they were replaced with cassette tapes. Video may have killed the radio star but it was the cassette tape that killed the 8 track.

I made this one to send to my sister to house her pictures from Ireland but Sunday I will be using the Beach Boys and Crate Paper The Pier paper line.
Supply List
One 8 track tape that has 3 visible holes, they come in 5 different types but the one that you can use is the one with 3 holes, one at the end where the tape is visible and 2 on other end.

A few pieces of patterned paper

2 binder rings

Assortment of embellishments for the front

A pair of strong scissors like Tim Holtz scissors

A heat tool

So if you have one of these laying around we are going to make a mini album with it on Sunday on our Ustream channel Sunday, August 4th, at 4:00 EST

Put on your fro wig and platform shoes and let's rock this mini!

Project for Use Up Your Stash

There is a fierce storm coming so I am going to post this quickly. I decided I was going to try to use up my stash and make a project a day to give a way.

I had this Prima line Alla Prima for like, ever, I loved it so much I was afraid to use it haha. But alas it is not doing any good sitting on a shelf.

I decided to do a #10 size tag album, using the kraft tags by Ranger. I lined chipboard for the front and back covers.
Then layered embellishments on the cover adding some little dew drops with Glossy Accents and Liquid pearls in gold. and swiped some Viva Decor Inka Gold.
I love how it turned out and I wish I could keep it but instead it is on it's way to a new home where I hope it brings a smile.

I challenge you to use up your stash and make something to give away to some unsuspecting person.

Tiki Bar Mini Tutorial is now fixed and posted

Hey Guys sorry this took me so long, you can see it being made on our Ustream Channel For the Tiki Bar Mini album tutorial will be available soon as a digital download.  Hope to see all of your tiki bars Aloha!

I used the Kaisercraft Tropicana Line which is so gorgeous I have to buy the 12x12 pack!

A Card For a Friend

Just wanted to share a card I made for a friend who loves green, music and tea! I am participating in a 2Peas challenge and I needed to do a monochromatic scheme and I needed to get a card out so I killed 2 birds with one stone.(what a horrible saying)

I used the Sizzix latte cup die and cut it out of cardstock and patterned paper from DCWV Heirloom paper stack I had in my stash. I have decided to make something everyday using items in my stash and then give them away. A great way to clean out my room and make someone happy at the same time. We all love Happy Mail don't we?

I used some vintage seam binding and made a circle blossom out of scraps of odds and ends from my fabric hoard. I pulled the tea tag off of a tea bag and attached it behind the cup.

Life IS Good! I hope you have a great weekend! Off to use up more of my goodies, hmmm who shall I send what I make next off to?

Before and After Project Pics from the Family Flea Market Challenge

Hey everybody! I have a few pics to share from our family flea market challenge!

My brother George made this great little caddy for 4th of July. He said Dad's could use it as they celebrate their independence LOL. It is so festive.  He Mod Podged the pics on the side, wrapped the handle with ribbon and added nuts to hold the flags in place. All items shown were 10 dollars total.

Next up is our mom's project. using a vintage bill paying caddy, a tall shot glass, a toothbrush holder and a stencil. Her completed project is an organizer for her embellishments and a paintbrush wash and dry caddy. Very clever!

After (She added a flower pen and notepad as an index)

My project became a mini album in a box to put our memories from this trip in. All supplies except paint were from the Flea Market and totaled 10 dollars! Thanks Harry from Jackie's Junk for giving me a great deal!

Lido Beach

I had the best weekend getting together with some good friends I have not seen in a year!We went to Lido Beach. My friend Michelle booked us at the Helmsley Sandcastle. Okay this hotel is straight out of the 1970's! But our room was right on the beach, literally. It was clean and cozy and had great A/C, just ask Cyndi, she wore her sweatshirt, socks and a blanket all the time she was inside!

Sunset with my flash on

So peaceful

Breakfast Gulfside with my besties

The sun shining up through storm clouds

We went down to St Armand's to eat at Tango's then finished up dinner with some home made fudge at the candy shoppe next door. Oh yeah and a little scoop of Rum Raisin Ice Cream!  Then we had pizza our last night because after a full day of sun we were wiped out, delivered to the room by Little Italy, it was so delicious I had 2 pieces. YUMMY (I won't say how much Michelle ate!)

I didn't want to leave so guess what? I didn't! I stayed and the rest of the girls went home. I took long walks on the beach, found feathers (wink ArteDar) and have really decided that this is where I want to live. Maybe not Lido but definitely the beach!

Until tomorrow...

Our Next Ustream Class July 20th

Darcie and I will be streaming on July 20th at 11 am EST. We are moving it up because inevitably something technical goes wrong and it takes us an hour to figure it out LOL. That way you all don't have to wait on us.

This month's project is a blast from our past. We will do 2 of them one using your stash and one using a new product line.

No pics yet from Darcie but I can give you a hint, you might need a cowgirl hat! Yeehaw!
Sure hope you can join us!

I am now uploading pics from our 10 dollar Flea Market Challenge our family did while visiting our mom. These projects really came out cute. We dare you to take up the challenge.

The rules are easy:
1. You get 10 dollars and 1 hour at a flea market
2. You can only use what you buy and you must transform them in some way.
3. You are allowed to use paint, scissors and adhesives to complete your project.

If you take us up on the challenge please post a link in the comment section.
