What do a Camper and an Altoid box have in common?

Nothing, but I sure do have a lot of Altoid tins laying around. I was getting ready to throw it out but out of the corner of my eye I saw a camper lol! Yes I admit I dream of vintage campers. So I gathered some supplies I had on my work table and began making this sweet little camper treat box.

Begin by lightly sanding and painting the tin with distress paint.

Trace around the tin to get your pattern and cut out of paper and apply to thin chipboard. Glossy Accent the wheels behind the hubs and then layer the side pieces over top. Dry completely.

I put paper behind the acrylic pieces and used as a door and window, drew on bumpers with a silver marker then drew in details with a fine black pen.

Placed a hitch knob on the bottom of tin to hold it up then I glossy accented a hinge as a step to the door.  To make the hinge stay at a 90 degree angle, place some Glossy Accents in hinge and let dry at that angle.

I added a rub on under the window!
Won't these make a cute gift box or name plates on a table setting?
Dig in your purse you know you have a mint tin just hanging around waiting to go on adventure!

  1. this is so cute. I, too, dream of campers. I don't have one yet. On another note, I am in the midst of making the retro clock radio, could you possibly send me the pattern with the printable for the clock part? Thanks so much!!
