12 Tags of 2014 December Tag

I cannot believe that this is the 12th tag already and my first one of the year! I guess I have been pretty busy with restoring and shopping for Zippee, my vintage camper. It's funny because  I love seeing the tag each month and set out to make them but before I know it the month is gone : (
So here is my take on Tim Holtz December tag:

Here is the link to see Tim Holtz' original tag. He has great step by step directions and his tags are gorgeous.

When I was at Whimsodoodle I picked up some Frosted Sheets so I thought I would give the tag a try. In my neighborhood everyone is outside decorating their houses for the holidays so when I saw the window die I felt inspired.

I used the Pointsettia mover and shaper and the Festive Greenery dies also. The Frosted sheet was embossed through the Snowflake embossing folder.

To get the numbers to appear red on the brads I used Stickles, you can place a drop on the numbers and wait a little bit then take you finger and gently swipe across top of brad, the stickles is left behind in the debossed number.

I never used the Picket Fence Distress Marker before so when I started to outline the poinsettia and nothing appeared I was dissappointed but then a few seconds later I looked back at it and a wonderful soft, snowy color appeared. I love this marker!! I outlined all of the flower's edges and it gave such a lovely soft outline.

I had the Snowflake piece from a former Christmas Ideology set. It doesn't have a hole and I couldnt find my hole drill so I needed to make a bail myself. With some memory wire I created a spiral and flattened it out with some smoothing pliers. With some E600 I adhered it to the back and  "Voila!" I had a snowflake charm. A loop at the other end of the wire for a jump ring and it was attached to the hand-dyed ribbon.
We are streaming beginning at 10 am on Saturday, December 13th this project, it is perfect to house the Tim Holtz 12 tags! They hang down inside the Ice Shanty.
I will have the supply list up tomorrow and during the show I will teach you how to make it! There will be a free tutorial available up on our blog for Saturday only for your use, so make sure you grab it then. After that it will no longer be available because I will be teaching the class next year. Merry Christmas!
