Check one off my bucket list! Friday and Saturday was spent at this wonderful store in St. Petersburg Florida. What a two days it was, I finally got to take classes with the notorious Paula Cheney!! I have been a big fan of her creations for such a long time and to sit and be able to take a class let alone 4 was a dream come true!
We started out making a lovely portfolio using the Tim Holtz large portfolio. I don't have a finished photo but here it is in progress:
I was so glad when the woman next to me wanted to switch cabinet cards because she got the 2 girls and I was thinking I could use the portfolio for our next ScrappyCamperSisters adventure. Aren't they sweet? They are out of the Found Relatives line from Tim Holtz. Paula told us she is working with him now, I was like what a great match!!
The next class proved to be quite tedious for my liking, but I am glad I stuck it out because I loved the project and I would never had done it on my own, Darcie likes to alter things more than I do, so I was happy to have Ms. Cheney crack the whip. I love this little assemblage clock and the mermaid pearl technique made it all worth it!
Friday, I had a lovely dinner at the Mexican restaurant around the corner with 3 ladies from class. One of them Lori invited me for breakfast the next morning at the Hilton, she comes over all the way from Miami just to take classes at this store!
Saturday we were up and at it early and got to work on the Christmas Configuration Box. I loved this project!!! May I say Paula's classes rock, she does all the hard work for you. You get to just assemble and learn cool techniques and the presentation on this was gorgeous, I can't believe that I didn't get a picture, I guess I was excited and just dug right in! I added my photo to the box when I got home, it is lovely in person.
The last class was working with the Worn Cover Album. We worked with one of these with Mr. Holtz when we went to Italy last year, this little mini is so cute not sure what I will put in it yet but it sure came out nice.
I was exhausted but totally inspired when I left and I did get to squeeze in a little shopping, not hard to do in that place!
So next time you find yourself anywhere near St. Petersburg or Central Florida take a stop in at Whimsodoodle and say Hi to Jill and the girls and give them a big hug from us!
