Come Clean 2016 February Bonus Project - Journal Toppers

Hi, all, this is Darcie. This month we focused on decluttering, storing and using our FLOWERS. One way to use your flowers and other embellishments is to make what I call journal toppers. They are layered, self-contained goodies with die cuts, images and embellishments that you make ahead and then use on top of journal covers, cards, gift boxes, anything as the need comes up. They are great for gifts too! To make, follow these steps:

1. Make some die cuts in various sizes and colors. You can also use punches to make borders.

2. Gather some images to place in the center. The one below is from a vintage book but you can stamp images or use photos or ephemera as well.

3.  From the base up, layer your designs, die cuts and images and attach with glue. Glossy Accents or Scotch Quick Dry in a fine tip bottle work well.

4. Add flowers, embellishments, pearls, sequins, lace and other items from your stash to make it look pretty and dimensional. And you're done!

Make sure to join our Scrappy Camper Sisters' Come Clean 2016 Facebook group where we are working on destashing an item from our craft space every month and showing you how to use what you've got. Also, you can watch us on Ustream the first Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. EST www.ustream.tv/channel/scrappycampersisters for paper crafting, altered items and mixed media projects. See you there!
